Bed and Breakfasts have a long history throughout the world. Since the 19th century in this country, travelers could find lodging in homes when no hotels were available in the area. The generous folks who opened their homes to travelers often provided a hearty breakfast to their guests before sending them on down the road. At that time, private homes were often the only shelter available, and travelers were extremely appreciative.
