Secluded on a hillside in Lost Pine Forest, 9E Ranch Bed and Breakfast between Bastrop and  Smithville is a cattle ranch spanning 300 acres with lily and goldfish ponds, wooded Piney Creek, a water garden and two gazebos near colorful native flowers. Hiking trails provide great views of Texas Longhorns, guineas,  wild turkeys, deer, birds, four American Quarter Horses, miniture donkeys, cats and wildlife. Watch the sunset from the porch rocker or a garden bench. Stay in a log cabin that may include a private deck, antique footed tub, wood-burning stove, sleeping loft or sky roof. Two-bedroom Daisy Cottage boasts a spacious living room. All accommodations have refrigerators,stoves, grill and local menus to Bastrop County restaurants. Go shopping or play golf nearby. Fishing and swimming are popular at Buescher and Bastrop State Parks.
