Chaska House Bed & Breakfast
In April of 2004, after eleven years in business, the Chaska House closed its doors for a full year of major renovation. Re-opened in April of 2005, it emerged as a fascinating combination of history, luxury, comfort and whimsical adventure—specifically designed with B&B guests in mind creating a comfortable elegance rarely found in historic lodging properties. Spacious guest rooms and suites reflect the lifestyles of well-known authors inicluding Sam Clemens, Scott Fitzgerald, Margaret Mitchell, Will Shakespeare and Teddy Roosevelt. Located on Main Street in the heart of Waxahachie's West End Historic District, The Chaska House is just a short stroll to wondrous shops, excellent dining and the magnificent courthouse that James Michener called "a fairy tale palace—one of the finest buildings in Texas". Waxahachie is only forty minutes (and 100 years) south of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex on Interstate 35E or State Highway 287. Private, off-street parking is provided and the inn-keepers are in residence to see to every comfort and need. The Chaska House has been a proud member of HAT since 1993.
