Right now, all over the Hill Country of Texas, great summer events like markets, live music, rodeos and more are taking place. We wanted to give you a small sample of the kind of fun you will run into on a Saturday in some of the towns where our bed and breakfast members operate.
Thursdays, 4 – 7 p.m. Fredricksburg Farmer’s Market. At W. Austin and N. Crockett streets, enjoy live music, prepared foods, a cafe and more.
First Friday Art Walk. The first Friday of each month, participating art galleries stay open until 8 p.m. so visitors can experience fine art, special art exhibits and artist demonstrations. Be prepared for warm Texas hospitality from both gallery owners and artists! Don’t be afraid to make conversation or ask a question.
Sundays, 2 p.m. Al Barlow at the Phoenix Saloon. Fun folk and country music from local legend Al Barlow. Cold beer, great food and a friendly atmosphere.
Saturdays, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. Comfort Area Farmer’s Market. At Hwy. 27 and Broadway. One of the oldest farmer’s markets in Texas, a must do every Saturday for locals.
Saturdays, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. High Street Market. At High and 7th streets, enjoy homemade breads, a knife sharpener and other small town sundries.
August 3, September 7, October 5, Nov. 2, Dec. 7 & Jan. 4, 2014. Family Day at the Lehnis Railroad Museum. A 700 E. Adams St., the museum will present a special family program at 11 a.m. Take a tour of the caboose and check out the extensive model railroad under construction.
