Palo Alto Creek Farm
Fredericksburg, Texas Bed and Breakfast
Enjoy a true country getaway at our Fredericksburg Bed and Breakfast. Rock away your worries on the swing under the ancient grandfather Oak tree. Spend afternoons at our Spa, enjoying cleansing facials, transformative sole therapy for your feet, and full body massages that will dissolve every bit of tension. Our Couples Retreat allows both of you to have the same services at the same time, so you will be equally relaxed for your evening together.
Palo Alto Creek Farm was once the homestead of the Itz family, German pioneers who settled here in 1854. The original farm buildings remain today, and though they are now restored, they offer guests a glimpse into what life was like for those hardy folk. Wildlife is abundant here, and the stars are endless. Tucked away in your own private guesthouse (with modern amenities, of course), you will feel transported to a wonderfully peaceful time and place.
Should you decide to leave this heavenly spot, there is plenty to do in the surrounding Texas Hill Country. We are located a mere five miles from the Main Street of Fredericksburg, where there is an astonishing array of excellent restaurants, shopping, and cultural events. True to the cultural heritage of the area, there is plenty of good German food here – visit in the fall and enjoy a traditional Octoberfest. Yet you will also find excellent Texas barbecue, Tex-Mex fare, and yummy pastries, among other cuisines.
The Hill Country boasts some the finest wineries in Texas, many of which are located close to our Bed and Breakfast. Take a leisurely tour on the Wine Trail, enjoy the Food and Wine Fest in the fall, and pick up a few bottles to share during your stay at the inn. Some of our guest houses have full kitchens, where you may craft meals around the Hill Country wines you’ve selected.
Whether you like to spend your time perusing museums and art galleries or engaging in outdoor activities like biking, fishing, and horseback riding, you’ll find plenty of opportunities in this corner of the Texas Hill Country. Nearby museums focus on early pioneers and the old west, while galleries feature work by both local and internationally renowned artists. Just outside of town you’ll find fine parks: Lady Bird Johnson Park has wheelchair accessible trails, while Enchanted Rock State Park offers some of the most challenging climbs in the state. Or blend history and nature with a trip to the LBJ State and National Historic Park.
We look forward to welcoming you to Palo Alto Creek Farm.
