Film Friendly Smithville

Smithville is the first town in Texas to be named "Film Friendly" by the Texas Film Commission. Stay a Sunday - Thursday night and receive a personal tour of the sites used in the movie, "Hope Floats" and "Tree of Life", to be released this fall. "Tree of Life" stars Brad Pitt and Sean Penn. "Martha" and "Artois the Goat" were also filmed in Smithville in the last 18 months. Lunch for two at Pocket's Grille will be included in our "Film Friendly Special." Pocket's Grille has many signs used in "Hope Floats," starring Sandra Bullock.

Gardeners Can Help Community Garden

Love to work in the dirt? Come and spend at least 3 hours working in the Community Garden, here in Smithville and receive a 30% discount on a stay Sunday through Thursday nights. Lunch for two at Mary Catherine's Deli will be included. I bet you could take home a few fresh goodies from the Community Garden.

Birthday Celebration For Our 100 Year Old Historic Home

Our home, the Katy House, is 100 years old this year. We invite you to help us celebrate the home's 100th birthday. Stay two nights, now through the Summer, on a Sunday - Thursday night and receive the second night free, as long as you bring the house a Birthday present in the way of a plant. Beds in the yard will be ready for your gift and you can help put your gift into the ground. The garden really likes Texas Native Perennials. Ask for the "Katy House Birthday Plant Special". Man's Best Friend

Smithville is building a dog park where dogs can run and play without leashes. Stay on a Sunday - Thursday night at the Katy House with your pet, and 10% of your stay will be donated to the Smithville "Bark Park". Be sure to tell us "I am here to help build the Bark Park" or just say "woof woof".
