Jamye’s road trip to Salado, the Yellow House bed and breakfast

Salado Lodging, The Yellow House bed and breakfast

Perfect Salado lodging, the Yellow House bed and breakfast is located just a few miles east of I -35, which is about two hours south of Dallas and an hour north of Austin. So it’s a great choice for a weekend getaway.

Salado is a small town of about 2,000, situated in Bell County. The Main Street is a popular location with restaurants, coffee and sweet shops as well as antique stores. The Salado creek is so tranquil and picturesque and runs right through the middle of town.

Upon arrival at the Yellow House, which you can’t miss when driving up…because…of it’s bright and cheery yellow color with an inviting white picket fence….I was stunned to see a field of bluebonnets right across the road from the b n b. Perfection!

The innkeepers at the Yellow House are Sara and James Sharp. They live on the property and are the most gracious hosts! They are available to meet your every need …or if your desire is privacy, they are on call if a need arises.

The Sharps are two former teachers who are living the dream of owning and operating a beautiful bed and breakfast. James and Sara can cook up a hearty and very tasty breakfast every morning that can be served up at the lovely farmhouse table in the main house or brought to your cottage in a basket in the morning.

There are four lovely guest rooms in the main house that are large and tastefully decorated. Each room has a private bath and cozy sitting areas.

Primrose room

I stayed in the Primrose room which had two queen beds (Stearns and Foster mattress!!!). The sheets were heavenly and you can buy them at the inn or on the website. The reading nook by the window was perfect for enjoying my morning coffee which was readily available just down the hall. And that coffee was amazing!
There’s a lovely porch on the main house (and cottages) with wooden rockers that beckon you to come and sit a spell and watch the sun go down.

The Yellow House Bed and Breakfast is also the perfect venue for your next indoor or outdoor event, such as Weddings, Group dinners or Family reunions.

You will enjoy the Yellow House Bed and Breakfast for a quiet, peaceful place to stay. That is just a few miles from downtown Salado Texas. It’s close enough to hit the shops in town, but far enough out to enjoy some rest and relaxation. Your perfect Salado Lodging location.

The Texas Bed and Breakfast Association has over 50 beautiful bed and breakfasts, inns, hotels and ranches. My goal is to visit all of them in time. My first visit in April 2022 was Salado Texas at The Yellow House Bed and Breakfast.
